Suspected Boko Haram members last night shot dead a police Inspector and seven civilians during an attack on Police station and a commercial Bank in Gwoza town, Borno state, Security Sources said.
A resident of Gwoza, Umaru Yahuza , said attack started at about 9pm on Monday when gunmen believed to be Boko Haram members attacked police station and a Bank in Gwoza town.
“They started shooting at the police station and at the bank, everyone was scared. We only woke up this morning to see corpses of seven persons and a police inspector “. Yahuza said.
Armed security operatives have since been deployed to beef up security in the Gwoza town which is 130 Kilometers away from Maiduguri, the state capital.
