Huawei’s Windows8 phone comes with cloud services

A fresh round of competition in the smart phone ecosystem may have begun as the Chinese telecoms giant, Huawei brings Windows-run smartphone exclusively available in the Africa continent. The customized device will be made available in the Nigerian market tomorrow in partnership with Microsoft as part of its new 4Afrika Initiative.

The Huawei 4Africa was specifically designed for the African market and runs on the latest operating system from Microsoft , Windows 8 OS.
Although there are other smart phones in the market, the objective of the scheme was to increase the penetration of smartphones across the continent. The smart was designed and marketed specifically for the African continent, perhaps to create a global market trend more towards the target market.
The package
However, the series brings 4 inch screen resolution of 800 × 480 pixels with entrusted speed dual core 1.2GHz processor and 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. On the multimedia side, 5MP camera is capable of recording 720p HD video accompanied by a VGA front camera for video chat.
The gadget has an internal storage memory of 4GB and provision of expanding the storage space with the use of a microSD card up to 32GB. One of the first impressions of the gadget is a clear 4-inch display, similar to the size of the latest iPhone. The device was developed as a cheap wireless broadband in the African continent and help local people in the region develop Windows apps. Accessibility
The phone will be connected to a customised app store including applications designed by Africans. The Windows 8 platform makes the gadget shine, with a screen covered with live tiles or apps. The physical design mimics Nokia’s high-end Lumia series of phones, with the gadget adopting a block shape and being available in many colours.
Power saving:
The power saving technology gives up to 420 hours standby time and 560 minutes talk time.  Being a Windows 8 device, there is extra provision of storage in Microsoft’s SkyDrive cloud computing service.
